Nice to meet you, I’m Ursula.
I’m Ursula Pearce, a registered psychologist and the founder of Bear Hug Psychology.
I’m a registered psychologist in Ashgrove, Brisbane, and the founder of Bear Hug Psychology, offering both face-to-face and online therapy Australia-wide. I support teens, young adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, ASD, low self-worth, OCD, and major life transitions. Prior to entering private practice, I previously worked at headspace, a youth mental health organisation, which ignited my passion for youth mental health. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and neuroaffirming, ensuring every client feels heard, understood, and supported.
When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me weightlifting or running, curled up with a good book, or watching scary movies. These things keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of balance and play.

My Approach
Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to you. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) – helping you build flexibility and live in line with your values
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – practical tools for shifting unhelpful thinking patterns
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – support for managing emotions and relationships
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) – reducing self-criticism and building resilience
Mindfulness-based approaches – to help you stay present and steady
All of this is underpinned by neuroaffirming and gender-affirming care, so you feel safe and supported as your authentic self.
